Michael Kukulka of Melbourne Gold Company congratulates a La Trobe University Volleyball Club player during the 2026 season.

Melbourne Gold Company Supports La Trobe University Volleyball Club’s 2026 Season

Melbourne Gold Company was pleased to support La Trobe University Volleyball Club throughout its 2026 season, continuing our involvement with local sporting and community organisations across Melbourne.

As part of the sponsorship, Melbourne Gold Company donated a one-ounce gold prize for the club’s major end-of-season raffle. The raffle was drawn as part of the club’s End of Season Celebration, bringing together players, supporters, volunteers and sponsors to recognise another successful year for the club.

Melbourne Gold Company founder Michael Kukulka attended the celebration and personally presented the gold prize to raffle winner Hugh Selkirk.

The presentation capped off a season in which La Trobe University Volleyball Club continued to grow its playing community and provide opportunities for volleyball players across a range of levels.

Supporting Melbourne’s sporting community

Melbourne Gold Company has operated in Melbourne for more than 15 years, and supporting organisations within the communities in which we operate is something we value.

Community sporting clubs in particular depend heavily on the work of volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Contributions from local businesses can help clubs fund equipment, events, competitions and other activities that benefit their members.

For the 2026 season, we wanted our contribution to La Trobe University Volleyball Club to be something a little different.

With gold being at the centre of what we do every day, a one-ounce gold prize was a natural fit for Melbourne Gold Company and created some additional excitement around the club’s end-of-season raffle.

A golden end to the 2026 season

The raffle winner, Hugh Selkirk, received his prize from Michael Kukulka during the club’s end-of-season celebrations.

For Michael, being able to attend personally was an important part of the sponsorship.

“It’s great to be able to support a local sporting organisation and then actually come along, meet the people involved and present the prize to the winner,” Michael said.

“Congratulations to Hugh and everyone at La Trobe University Volleyball Club on a great season.”

The club subsequently published its own season wrap-up covering the celebration, raffle and Melbourne Gold Company’s involvement.
